The world’s leading driver of technology and innovation, yet our defense and intelligence (“D&I”) industry remains highly insular, disconnected from these innovations and innovators. Despite a trillion dollars spent each year, the United States is rapidly losing the innovation war, placing our security and freedoms in jeopardy. There is a widely acknowledged and urgent imperative to reconnect the demand for technological transformation in national security to America’s most innovative entrepreneurs. The ability to bridge that gap offers the potential for exceptional rewards, both in near term returns, as well as in building the foundation for a new defense industrial base that can support national security for decades to come.
